Cambodia Casinos

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia casinos that lie just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where casino gaming is not allowed. Eight casinos are based in a relatively small space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in a perfect destination, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular betting locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing income acquired from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million, and there are a few restrictions constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; although, financing sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are apparently needed to pass, there are ways around this, as is correct of most border crossings.
The first Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored barge casino, highlights 150 one armed bandits and sixty gaming tables. The Naga river boat is open all day and night with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The original casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. There are one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred one armed bandits and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and 66 of the normal table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational vacation and hotel building that features numerous comforts in addition to the gambling hall, which has 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight gaming tables.
